Dr Michela Rossi trained at Newcastle University Medical School. Following her training in clinical medicine, she spent a productive time in research at The Hammersmith Hospital. Her research was into obesity and the hormonal controls of appetite and feeding. Her research resulted in several published papers and she was awarded a PhD in 2000.
Dr Rossi joined The Whittington Hospital in 2002. She is the Lead Consultant Physician in Endocrinology and is responsible for the development and provision of the clinical endocrine services. In her role as Consultant Physician in Diabetes, she is involved in care of patients with diabetes and the provision of diabetes services.
She is lead diabetologist in the diabetes antenatal service and leads on care of people with diabetes and foot ulcers. Dr Rossi supports and encourages self-management of patients with long term conditions.
